The name

Payment used to be weighed. Then we learned to count.

Before Rome had coins it had bronze by the pound, and the word for paying was pendere — to weigh. Coinage changed that. A coin carried its value on its face, so you no longer had to trust the scale, the weigher, or the purity of the lump. You only had to count. The word shifted with it.

Pendere — to weigh

Paying people is still hard work

Somewhere between the forum and the payout file, we went back to weighing. Either you trust a processor to hold your money, or you do the work by hand — and neither is a way to run a business.

  • Re-key a wallet address for every payment, with no undo if it is wrong
  • Hand your money to an intermediary and wait out holds and reserves
  • No way to let AP or AR pay anyone without sharing your keys
Numerari — to be counted out

Counted out in public, without the busywork

Rome called a single pool divided among many a distributio — one source, many recipients, done in the open. Numerari keeps the openness and takes out the labour.

  • Save each recipient once; we verify the address before it can be paid
  • Sub-wallets let AP and AR do their jobs without your keys
  • You sign from your own wallet, and every payment leaves a public receipt

How it works

Do the hard part once.

Verifying an address is the risky, fiddly step. You do it a single time per recipient.

STEP 01

Save your people

Add a recipient once. Numerari confirms the address by micro-deposit or a signed challenge, so a typo can never become an irreversible payment.

STEP 02

Build the run

Pick from your confirmed contacts or upload the list you already keep. See every share and what it costs to send before anything is signed.

STEP 03

Pay and track

You sign from your own wallet — the keys stay with you. Every payment gets an on-chain receipt, tracked through to confirmation in one place.

What businesses use it for

Money in, money out — without a crypto department.

Counting out to one person is checkout. Counting out to three hundred is payroll, a supplier run, or a creator payout. Same address book, same wallet.

Accept crypto payments

A hosted checkout that splits the sale to your wallet as it clears.

Contractors & payroll

Pay a whole roster from your saved contacts, with a receipt per person.

Supplier runs

Clear the payables list without a processor holding the money first.

AP & AR teams

Each team gets its own sub-wallet and audit trail. Revoke it any time.

Self-custody

Your keys. Your money. Including from us.

Numerari is a wallet you own, not an account we hold for you. You sign every movement of value, and no balance is ever transferred into an account we control. Mass pay is covered by your subscription, so we take no cut of a payout — the only cost on top is network gas.

You hold the keysNumerari never takes custody of your balance and cannot move your funds.
Sub-wallets, not shared keysGive AP, AR, or an agent their own derived wallet — revocable, without touching your master wallet.
Verified recipientsAn address is confirmed by micro-deposit or signed challenge before it can be paid.
Public receiptsEvery payment is on-chain and verifiable by anyone, including the people you paid.

Crypto should be simple for business.

Bring your payout list. Save your people once, keep your keys, and stop doing this by hand — on a flat subscription, with no cut of the payout going to us.
